(SORT OF) Boiling Crab Recipe | Sometimes Jowee Cooks

Yep, I'm obsessed with Boiling Crab's whole shabang. I've tried all these restaurants that try to copy it but to no avail. The cajun/spices just gets me every single time and I can never get tired of it! One of my best friends is what you would call "A Jack of All Trades." The first time she tried boiling crab she was a goner just like I was, but because of her awesomeness she was able to make a recipe of it from taste alone. So everyone please thank my best friend DUDAY for this wonderful wonderful recipe! NOM NOM NOM
INGREDIENTS
Shrimp
Unsalted Butter (1lb of shrimp = 1 stick of butter)
Creole Seasoning
Garlic
Onions (chopped)
Paprika
Chili powder
Cayenne
Lime
Potatoes, Sausages, Corn (not necessary)
DIRECTIONS
Now this is where it becomes a (sort of) recipe. A lot of mixes were done by taste and I don't exactly have a specific amount (tbsp/tsp) of spices that you should put. All I know FOR SURE that to add heat (make it mild, medium or hot) is the amount of CAYENNE that you put -- so add that ingredient LAST.

Steam shrimp. If you want potatoes, cut the potatoes in cubes and have it boil in hot water for 10 minutes or until soft. While doing that combine the butter (melted - remember the more butter you put, the more soup there is) and all the other ingredients except lime. Mix everything according to taste, put as much garlic as you please, and the amount of spice is truly dependent on the cayenne. Once it is a liking to your taste, combine with your steamed shrimp. Mix together and heat up for 10-15 minutes so the mix & shrimp will satiate. Add limes for taste.

Voila! Your very own (easy/sort of) Boiling Crab! :) Let me know if you try this recipe!

Till Next Time! :)

Thanks for this but you really can't call this a recipe. This is like telling someone that the only thing they need to bake cookies is some flour, water, and eggs. Without amounts, it's a guessing game and it isn't anything near boiling crab's flavor until you know how much you need.

I appreciate the recipe. The exact measurements are not needed when one has been cooking for a long time. Experienced cooks will get this very easily. Sauces are easy to taste as we go and one can savor and add or substract ingredients on the go.
