Game Night | Makeup Play

Hi everyone! How was everyone's Christmas? I hope it went well. :) I received A LOT of makeup/ beauty related products and I'm so very thankful :) Anyway, I haven't done one of these FOTN's in awhile! Last night a few friends came over my apartment for wings, basketball and game night. Here's a simple look since we were just inside:

It's really weird because it seems like i'm wearing pink eyeshadow on my lid and purple on my lower lid... but it's only one color! Not sure if it's the camera or that's how the eyeshadow really is blended out but nevertheless it's pretty :)

Instant Favorite: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters

Ahhh... I'm lacking in blog posts again! I'm so sorry for the semi hiatus, I moved in to a new apartment this past weekend. I forgot how horrible packing is! Anyway, I've heard a lot of rave about these babies around the blogosphere so I decided to check it out for myself.

I tweeted about a week ago stating that I bought 4 lipsticks in less than 5 minutes... and it was this. From first lip swipe I was in love... no joke. (I know I say I love a lot of my makeup, which I really do...but I really do love these) Which is WHY I bought 4 more, totaling my lipstick collection of these to 8.

Revlon lip butters are described as (from Revlon's website):
- Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%
- Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth
- Sheer to medium color with buttery shine
- Available in 20 luscious shades
L-R: Berry Smoothie, Brown Sugar, Candy Apple, Peach Parfait, Lollipop, Sugar Plum, Sweet Tart, Tutti Frutti

I call these my "balmstickgloss',"  because it gives the softness of a lip BALM, the pigmentation of a lipSTICK, and the shininess of a lipGLOSS (you like that huh? haha!). It's a 3 in one and definitely wonderful.

Of course there is a drawback, as it is neither AS moisturizing as a regular lip balm, AS pigmented as a regular lipstick and AS shiny as a lipgloss... so this lip butter pretty much combined little bits of the three. The wear in this doesn't last as long because I have to reapply every 1-2 hours and that's if I didn't eat anything. Eating something will guarantee it to wipe off. Also, most if not all of the lip butters come with some glitter (not as noticeable unless seen very close) and that may throw off some people. Nevertheless, after you put these babies on your lips you'll never go back!

On to the pictures!

NOTE: Candy Apple & Peach Parfait were somehow interchanged in the top picture...Sorry!
L-R (bottom picture) Berry Smoothie, Brown Sugar, Candy Apple, Peach Parfait

Berry Smoothie
 Brown Sugar
Candy Apple
Peach Parfait

L-R: Lollipop, Sugar Plum, Sweet Tart, Tutti Frutti

 Lollipop
Sugar Plum
Sweet Tart
 Tutti Frutti
Most favorite: Peach Parfait
Least favorite: Brown Sugar
Most Opaque: Lollipop
Most Sheer: Peach Parfait

These lip butters can be bought in any drugstore, comes in 20 colors and they are permanent. If you can't find some of them right now (as they are very much in demand), don't worry! Just be patient-- or drive around to the next drugstore :p

Until Next Time! :)

OCC Lip Tar Collection

 From left to right:
I received an email today from a makeup website called Camera Ready Cosmetics and they're having a sale right now w/ OCC Lip Tar's going for 40% off. They're originally $13, and from now until friday it's only about $9 (I would STILL buy them at $13, though).

OCC Lip Tars are described as:
"A stunning new innovation in lip color, OCC Lip Tar combines the longevity of a lipstick, with the ease of application of a gloss. Goes on slick and moist, and dries down to a satin finish. Ultra-saturated in color, Lip Tar contains an unprecedented amount of pigment - a little goes a very, very long way! An intense yet featherweight layer of color that stands up to the scrutiny of Hi-Def Video and Digital Photography, without ever looking (or feeling!) heavy. Meant to be mixed, Lip Tar comes in concise array of colors for a limitless selection of shades made by you!

Like all of our products, OCC Lip Tar is 100% Vegan and Cruelty-Free, and is also free of parabens and other harsh preservatives. A simple, elegant formula that contains Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E, OCC Lip Tar feels as good on the lips as it looks!" - OCC website
I've talked about OCC Lip Tars consistently on my blog because I LOVE them so much. They're opaque, long lasting, come in a WIDE range of colors and most of all... they're a makeup artist's dream because you can mix them together. It's seriously like a kid in a candy store. You only need the TINIEST bit to get these bad boys to look opaque, so a tube will last you a very very long time. I immediately ordered 3 OCC Lip Tars (as I am so broke right now from all my other shopping!) and I purchased Anime, Hoochie & Narcissus... I will review those later once I get them. Right now I have 8 OCC Lip Tars, and I'm going to feature 5 today:

  1. Vintage
  2. NSFW
  3. Cha-Cha
  4. Grandma
  5. Harlot
Vintage, NSFW, Cha-Cha, Grandma, Harlot

ON MY LIPS:
OCC Lip Tar in Vintage is a deep burgundy/red color, reminiscent of wine. (mmm wine!) It's my go to lip color when I want to be more vamp. It's also such a beautiful fall/autumn color!

OCC lip tar in NSFW is my most FAVORITE red. While I still love my MAC Ruby Woo, NSFW has taken its place as my #1. The reason why I love this color is because it's a TRUE red, no blue/pink/orange undertones therefore being suitable for ALL skin colors. :) It's so gorgeous! If you've ever contemplated on getting a red lipstick... let it be this one!

OCC Lip Tar in Cha-Cha is an orange/nude and I have to admit that I probably would never wear this color out on it's own because it clashes w/ my skintone. I purchased this because it's a mixer, instantly brightening up any lipstick I may have.

OCC Liptar in Grandma is probably OCC's most coveted color. It's such a pretty peachy/pink. You can honestly use this color for an everyday type of look. It's sweet, it's cute, it's pretty, it's Grandma (you like that joke? ;) hahaha)

OCC Lip Tar in Harlot is no ordinary lip tar, it is very bright with hints of pink & coral and it somehow has small traces of orange on me. It seriously isn't for the faint of heart and it is a very look-at-me color.

I hope this blog persuaded you to at least check out what these babies are all about. If you would like the website for the OCC Lip Tar sale in Camera Ready Cosmetics, click HERE.

FYI, just checked the website right now and they're running out on a lot of colors so HURRY! :)

Until Next Time! :)

Makeup Inspiration: Rihanna in Gorgeous Purple & Blue

I came across this look from a google search and I fell in love with all her eye colors! One can't deny that Rihanna always looks fierce, whether rocking a simple look or something outrageous. She is one of my makeup models and I love how confident she is in whatever makeup look she wears.

Here's my version of this look:

Obviously her eye shape is different from mine, as I have a slight asian fold (that's why you can't see the purple/blue popping out like hers does). Nevertheless, it was an extremely easy look to try. Here's a breakdown of my look:

FACE
MAC Eyebrow pencil in Spiked
MAC Strobe Cream
MAC Face & Body in C3
MAC Prolong Wear Concealer NW25
Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer Medium

Inglot Matte 388 (blue/purple - lid & slightly above crease)
Inglot Matte 335 (orange - crease)

LIPS

Hopefully you liked this look! :)

Until Next Time! :)

Behind The Scenes: Bikini Wear

Had the pleasure of working on two beautiful girls for a bikini clothing line recently. The owner wanted a smokey eye and a nude lip for both her models. Here's a few pictures I took:

Isn't this model so gorgeous?! She reminded me a lot of Rachel Bilson

gave this model a smokey eye as well. Check out how fierce her look is! love it.

I wasn't able to take shots of them in the bikini since they shot at a different location. Hopefully the pictures come out soon so I can show you the edited pictures and give you a breakdown of their look! :)

Until Next Time! :)
